Smith

Smith started in the mid-1960s, when Dr. Bob Smith, an orthodontist who skied, patented a sealed thermal lens goggle that would not fog. The company is based in Portland, Oregon now, and the lens work is still the point.

ChromaPop is the reason to try a pair on. It filters the specific wavelengths where the eye confuses blue with green and green with red, so detail separates instead of flattening out, which matters most in snow, on water and under trees. It comes in polarized, photochromic and glass versions depending on the model. Smith covers sunglasses and goggles with a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
